Our aim is to make Worcester Carnival a pioneer in finding new ways to deliver a carnival in the 21st century. In 2023 we created an ambitious, sustainable addition to the city’s carnival infrastructure as a platform for diverse
community voices, building on a 2022 pilot project.  

Three hand-propelled vehicles have been constructed for Worcester Carnival by 101 Creation Space and decorated by Spare Room Arts working with The Monday Night Club, Mark Riley-Creative States working with Worcester Afro-Caribbean Association, and Complex Simplicity working with Honeywell Primary School.

Since then, the hand-propelled floats have continued to be an asset to the carnival, and we were able to re-use them in 2024.  It is our plan to again partner with professional artists and local communities to use them in the 2025 parade as well as expanding our sustainability by creating reusable artwork for the Carnival Village.
